Yoruba Heritage is built on the collective knowledge and memories of our community. Whether you are a scholar, an elder, a member of the diaspora, or simply someone who loves Yoruba culture — your contribution adds to this living archive. Ìwà pelẹ̀ — good character — is our guiding principle.

Write an Article

Share your research or knowledge on any aspect of Yoruba history, culture, language, or people. We welcome essays from 800–3,000 words.

Share a Story

Know a folktale, family legend, or oral tradition? Write it down and submit it. These are the stories that hold our identity together.

Have photographs of Yoruba art, festivals, historical sites, or daily life? We'd love to feature them in our growing gallery.

Correct an Error

Noticed something inaccurate? We take factual accuracy seriously. Send us a correction with your source and we'll review it promptly.

Help with Translation

Fluent in Yoruba? Help us translate or verify Yoruba phrases, proverbs, and song lyrics used throughout the site.

Community Interview

Are you (or do you know) an elder, artist, or practitioner willing to share knowledge? We conduct and publish written interviews.

Contribution Guidelines

  • Accuracy first: All facts should be verifiable. Please cite sources where possible.
  • Respectful tone: Content must treat Yoruba culture, religion, and people with dignity.
  • Original work: We only publish original content. No plagiarism from other websites or books.
  • Language: Submissions in English are preferred. Yoruba text with translations is warmly welcomed.
  • Images: Only submit images you own or have permission to share. Include photographer credit.
  • Review process: All submissions are reviewed before publishing — usually within 5–7 days.
  • No advertising: Content must be educational or cultural — not promotional.
  • Credit: Your name and a short bio will be displayed with your contribution.
